Category: Diary Landscape Black and white photography is all about textures, lines, shapes, shades of gray and the contrast between the light and darkness. Color images often hide these aspects under the 'layer' of color. One of the images from my Black and white portfolio, project. Category: Projects

A snapshot from my ‘Urban tales’ series. Category: Urban Tales This is a memorial of the Dukla Pass battle of 1944 (located on the borderland between Poland and Slovakia). The memorial commemorates a major tank battle in the so called, Death Valley. Here Soviet and German armor clashed in a miniature reenactment of the great tank battle of Kursk, with over 70,000 casualties on both sides. The offensive started on September 6, 1944, seventy years ago.

Will you send me an angel Here I am In the land of the morning star Scorpions: Send Me an Angel It’s raining, or rather it’s just drizzling. I am standing patiently at the edge of the sidewalk. I hold large and dark umbrella in my right hand, the camera is hung on my neck and rests on my chest. The camera is almost invisible, only wide-angle lens sticks out from my jacket. A cable release is plugged into the camera and a trigger on the other end is in my left hand, in the pocket of my pants. An old man is approaching to me from the left - his walk is heavy and slow. He holds an umbrella in left hand and a walking stick in another. Man’s face is motionless. Right now he is passing me. If I had stretched out my hand, I could almost touch him. But for him I am an imperceptible thing. Only now I see that his eyes are sad and empty. At that moment I push the button on the cable release. The old man continues his walk in a very slow pace. I slowly rise my head up, and I can see an angel, sitting high on the balcony railing. Perhaps he soon will bring him some light into his eyes. Photograph above is from ‘Urban Tales’ series.
