Faster, Faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.
~ Hunter S. Thompson Category: Speed When I meet a European, the first thing I say is, “I’d much rather watch football than football.” But I’m just teasing them, and they know I’d really rather watch football than football.

That depends a good deal on where you want to get to. I don't much care where - Then it doesn't matter which way you go. ~ Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland Category: Urban Tales We sit in the mud my friend and reach for the stars.
~ Ivan Turgenev, Fathers and Sons Category: Urban Landscape I travel light. But not at the same speed.
~ Jarod Kintz, The Days of Yay are Here! Wake Me Up When They’re Over. Category: Speed We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea.
~ C. JoyBell C. Category: Landscape I recently published on the Behance network my new project titled ‘Marathon’. To highlight the motion and dynamics of the sporting event, for shooting I used exclusively long exposures, with a combination of panning or steady camera. You can check my new work here.
The Peace Marathon, held since 1924 in Kosice, Slovakia, is the oldest annual marathon in Europe and the third-oldest in the world. The marathon takes place each year on the first October Sunday (this year’s fell on 4 October). The course consists of two practically identical circuits with the Start and Finish in front of the Hotel Doubletree by Hilton. The course is flat, completely asphalted and traffic free, leads mainly in the historic city centre and partly through the Anicka Park, where I took all my images. In nearly ideal weather (14 degrees at the start and 16 at the finish with no wind) and with a great help of sub runner Evans Ruto, as a pacemaker, the marathon record nearly fell. The 29 years old Kenyan Samuel Kosgei improved his pace in the last five kilometres and at the finish he was clocked at 2:07:07. He missed the course record (2:07:01) of Lawrence Kimaiyo from 2012 by only six seconds. The 92nd Peace Marathon also marked a new record of participants, more than 11 000 in all races, and from 49 countries. Category: Projects Everything is determined, the beginning as well as the end, by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for the insect, as well as for the star. Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.

~ Jandy Nelson, The Sky is Everywhere Category: Urban Tales The Sun is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. About three-quarters of the Sun's mass consists of hydrogen; the rest is mostly helium. The Sun is roughly middle aged and has not changed dramatically for four billion years, and will remain fairly stable for another four billion years. However, after hydrogen fusion in its core has stopped, the Sun will undergo severe changes and become a red giant. It is calculated that the Sun will become sufficiently large to engulf the current orbits of Mercury, Venus, and possibly Earth. The enormous effect of the Sun on the Earth has been recognized since prehistoric times, and the Sun has been regarded by some cultures as a deity. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.

I'd been had, I was sad and blue But you made me feel Yeah, you made me feel Shiny and new ~Madonna, Like a Virgin The song Like a Virgin was released on 6 November 1984 and has been covered by a number of artists and has appeared in feature films such as Reservoir Dogs, Moulin Rouge and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Category: Creativity A month ago, I attended the opening of an exhibition called ‘Fateful dates in photos’. Photographs in the exhibition depict turning points in the history of the former Czechoslovakia, namely the years 1945, 1968, 1969 and 1989. My attention at one moment was attracted by a young lady who for a long time was watching one of the photos. Specifically, it was the picture ‘Mourning rally in the Wenceslas Square, a day after the death of Jan Palach, 20.1.1969’. Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. … It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world's greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see.
