The second thought is connected with a rich history of mining in that area, which began a long time ago, sometime in the early 17th century. Dubnik opal mines were the only opal mines in Europe and the oldest place in the world where this colorful gem was regularly mined. This photo was used in the book that describes this important mining locality and history associated with it.
